Moonlite Hunting and Fishing Club

July Newsletter

Country Music Day:  Country Music Day is July 26th and volunteers are needed to setup on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and to also work the food booth and beer booths.  We will also need people to help clean up on Sunday.  This is a good opportunity to get your workdays.

Membership update:  Greg James’s application was read for membership; Greg was sponsored by Dan Wolfert.  The following members are up for sponsorship:  George Mullins, James Dalton III, Chris Land, Jerry King, Mark Taylor, Alan Mardis, James Dalton IV & Tom Barker.

5th Federation Fair:  The 5th Federation Fair is being held on August 2nd and 3rd.  Mark Bain needs people to help him with the food booth.  If you can help Mark, please contact him at 384-9114.  If you intend to shoot at the Fair you will need to contact Ray Bishop to let him know.  Ray can be reached at 384-2513.

Hillbilly Golf Outing:  We will be having a Hillbilly Golf outing at Moonlite on August 16th.  There is no cost to play, anyone can play and I heard the last time we had one it was a great time.  The game will consist of a 4 person team and it will be a scramble.  We will be using plastic golf balls and they will be provided.  Signup will be at 9:30A M. with the first tee off at 10:00A.M.   If you have any questions you can contact either Jim Klette (Cricket) at 384-3079.  (Beverages must be purchased from the Club during the game and will be available on the course.)

Swimming pool:  If you or your guests are using the swimming pool please follow the rules that are posted and clean up after yourself before you leave.  Also remember to lower the umbrellas on the tables around the pool area as well.

We are gathering the information on what it will cost to make the swimming pool compliant with the new Federal Law taking affect 1/1/09.  The Law requires either 2 – 12 inch drains or a safety device added to the pump system that will shut it off if the main drain is blocked.  The Club is also considering the age of the pool, the fact that it leaks and the overall condition of the pool.  During the August meeting the information will be available and will be discussed.  There are 3 options that will be presented, fix the pool, permanently close the pool or replace the pool.  We will then vote on what to do at the September meeting so you are encouraged to attend both monthly meetings.
